Ever wanted to burlesque for your beau? Wish you hadn't been born with two left feet? Let Fannie make your wishes come true!

You will learn how to create a character, design an easy costume, apply glamorous and glittery makeup, work with fun and sex concept and add props! Plus, don't forget the tassel twirling -- a burlesque staple and exercise every breast was meant to do!

Five-week sessions meet every other week at the "Oh My You're Gorgeous" studio in Mars, Pa.

Fall 2011 Syllabus

Week One: History of Burlesque and Burlesque Booty School Basics! 
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19

Learn about the legends who introduced America to this glamorous art form. From Sally Rand and he fabulous fans to Tempest Storm's $50,000 treasure chest, see how women have used Burlesque to empower themselves and liberate their bodies and minds! Students will first begin working on a "classic striptease" routine using on of Burlesque's most fabulous props -- the feather boa. Focus will be on the fluid and sensual, slow tease technique. Strengthen core and butt muscles while learning to appreciate your sexy form as we work on poses, lines and graceful movement.

Please wear tight-fitting, yoga type apparel for easy and comfortable movement. Students are also encouraged to bring heels to dance in. 

Please bring a boa or purchase one at the studio.

Week Two: Glitter, Gloves and Garters -- Oh My!
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2

Learn the Burlesque babe's secret to sparkle! This class will demonstrate makeup and glitter application that can be used anytime, by any glamour girl. From stage to film, print to weddings and even a Sunday afternoon picnic, find out what every woman needs to always keep in her makeup bag! We will also complete the slow and sultry routine begun in Week One with the addition of sex striptease favorites -- gloves and stockings! Discover new and pretty ways to move your arms while toning shoulders and back muscles. Students will also develop beginning chair techniques as they learn the titillating tricks of the trade of stocking removal!

Please wear tight-fitting, yoga type apparel for easy and comfortable movement. Students are also encouraged to bring heels to dance in. Please bring a boa or purchase one at the studio. 

Glitter will be provided.

Week Three: Costuming and Choreography!
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16

Learn the secrets of sewing without a needle, and find out why a hot glue gun is a glamour girl's best friend! Do you love rhinestones on, well, EVERYTHING?! In this class, students will learn the best materials for decorating clothing, accessories, costumes, props and anything else they may want to "burlesque-ify." Learn techniques, tips and tricks to creating a showgirl's wardrobe on a savvy budget. Costuming and musicality is key for an ecdysiast to create her own routine -- be it for an audience of 100 or just that one special person. Shortcuts to effective and easy choreography will be revealed in this segment. Students will also get their booty shakin' cardio workout on as we begin work on an upbeat chorus girl number with focus on cabaret, Fosse-type movement!

Week Four: Terrific Tassels!
6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30

Learn to construct your own pasties! The perfect adornment for any breast, a cute pair of pasties is the best way to show your twins just how special you think they are! Pasties make a fabulous gift for a girlfriend, or a sexy surprise to wear for your honey. Any boob can twirl a tassel, and students will learn all the secrets in this fun class that isn't for the faint of heart! Students will make their very own pair of tasseled pasties and test them out in the safety and supportive surroundings of their Burlesque sisters. We will also get our cardio shimmy on as we finish work on our chorus girl routine begun in Week Three -- complete with tassel twirl reveal!

Please wear tight-fitting, yoga type apparel for easy and comfortable movement. Students are also encouraged to bring heels to dance in. Please bring a boa or purchase one at the studio. 

Craft kit will be available for $5.

Week Five: Bust a Burlesque Move!
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14

We have the glamorous glitter, the titillating tassels and the sultry shimmy -- now it's time to put them all together! Students will combine elements from the Booty School sessions to make a complete group number. Utilizing the movements from the two routines learned -- and the costuming, makeup and twirling techniques -- we will polish a fun number that will get your heart rate up and your lashes batting. There is nothing like working with a group of fun gals to make you feel good and to build your confidence! After this class you won't be able to listen to the radio without strutting down the street or shimmying in your car seat!

Students will bring a black costume consisting of brassier, panties, stockings, gloves and boa (of their own design) for the group number.

Stage makeup and glitter is encouraged for our final session.

Students are also encouraged to bring heels to dance in.

Workshop cost for 5 week series is $175. Single sessions are available for $40 each.

Fannie Spankings, Fannie Spankings: An actress straight out of the womb Fannie, has studied theatre in Denver, New Orleans, and Chicago. In 2004 she decided to try something more risqué and found her home in the classic vaudevillian art of Burlesque. Her exuberant energy and ample ASSets have earned her guest spots in competitions and festivals across the continent. Just this year she was awarded Crystal Corset award at the 2011 Jim Thorpe Burlesque Festival! From Montreal to New Orleans, New York to San Diego she has charmed audiences from cheek to shining cheek! Fannie has produced, emceed, and performed at hundreds of sold out shows such as The Colorado Burlesque Festival 2011 & 2010, Fannie Spankings’ Off the Clock, Spankings & Martini’s Cinema Sirens, and many more! Eager to pass on her burlesque expertise, Fannie has served as Co-professor with her Colorado partner in crime, Midnite Martini of the “Spankings & Martini’s Burlesque Booty School”.
